Federal govt announces public holidays for 2026
The federal government has announced the schedule of public holidays for the year 2026, with the Cabinet Division issuing a notification covering national, Islamic and minority religious occasions.
According to the official schedule, the first public holiday of the year will be observed on February 5 on the occasion of Kashmir Day.
A public holiday will also be observed on March 23.
Eid ul Fitr holidays will fall on March 21, 22 and 23.
Labour Day will be observed on May 1, while May 28 will be a public holiday on Youm-e-Takbeer.
For Eid al-Adha, public holidays will be observed on May 27, 28 and 29.
The Cabinet Division has circulated the holiday schedule to all relevant departments for implementation.
