Bangladesh denies visa to Indian official in ICC delegation amid T20 World Cup talks
Bangladesh has refused to issue a visa to an Indian official who was part of an International Cricket Council (ICC) delegation scheduled to visit the country to discuss venues for the T20 World Cup.
According to Indian media reports, a two-member ICC delegation was due to visit Bangladesh to hold talks regarding World Cup venues.
The delegation included ICC Head of Anti-Corruption and Security Andrew Ephgrave and a senior executive from India.
Bangladesh, however, issued a visa only to Andrew Ephgrave, while the Indian official was denied entry.
Indian media reported that Andrew Ephgrave is expected to arrive in Bangladesh today for a two-day visit.
The purpose of the ICC delegation’s visit was to discuss a possible change in venues for the T20 World Cup.
It is worth noting that Bangladesh has already announced it will not travel to India for the World Cup due to security concerns.
