5 killed after Karachi-bound bus plunges into ravine near Chakwal
Rescue officials confirm 27 sustained injuries; conditions of many injured critical
A Karachi-bound passenger bus fell into a ravine near Dhok Pathan — a site located in the Chakwal district near the Soan River — on Wednesday.
At least five people were killed and 27 others injured in the accident, with several of the wounded stated to be in critical condition, according to rescue officials. The bus started its journey from Rawalpindi.
Bodies and the wounded have been shifted to the hospital, the rescue officials said, adding that the process of identifying the deceased is underway.
They confirmed that several of the injured remain in serious condition.
