Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi on Monday said the provincial government would not allow any military operation, stressing that force was not a solution to the province’s challenges.

Addressing the provincial cabinet, the chief minister said that after a grand peace jirga at the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly, a 15-point agenda aimed at restoring peace and stability in the province was approved.

The chief minister said a sustainable peace policy must include all political and religious parties.

“Effective policy-making requires all stakeholders to sit together. Decisions taken behind closed doors cannot be imposed on the province,” he said.

CM Afridi said past decisions made without broad consultation had harmed public trust. He reiterated that dialogue and consensus were essential for lasting peace, adding that unilateral approaches had failed to deliver results.

“The provincial government will not permit a military operation under any circumstances,” he said, underlining the need for a collective and transparent approach to security and peace.

The chief minister called for unity among all stakeholders, saying only an inclusive framework could produce an effective and acceptable peace policy for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
