Dar departs for China to co-chair Pakistan-China Strategic Dialogue
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar on Saturday departed for China on his first foreign trip of the new year.
Dar is scheduled to co-chair the 7th Pakistan–China Foreign Ministers’ Strategic Dialogue to be held tomorrow.
The dialogue will review the full spectrum of bilateral cooperation, identify new areas of partnership, and further advance the all-weather strategic cooperative partnership between Pakistan and China.
The Foreign Ministers’ Strategic Dialogue is the highest consultative mechanism between Pakistan and China, providing a structured platform to review the entire spectrum of bilateral cooperation, as well as regional and international developments of mutual interest.
The two sides will also hold detailed consultations on regional security issues. Other key topics on the agenda include expanding collaboration in trade, economic cooperation, health, and education.
Sources added that advancing the second phase of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) will also be discussed.
Officials said the visit is expected to play a significant role in consolidating ongoing cooperation between the two countries.
