Mild earthquake shakes Quetta and surrounding areas

Residents of Quetta and nearby areas felt tremors on Tuesday as a mild earthquake struck the region, the Pakistan Meteorological Department reported.

The earthquake measured 2.9 on the Richter scale and occurred at a depth of 30 kilometres underground.

The epicentre was approximately 40 kilometres northeast of Quetta.

No immediate reports of damage or casualties have been received.

Authorities continue to monitor the situation.
