A Lahore district court on Monday deferred further hearing on a supardari (surety) application filed by YouTuber Saad-ur-Rehman, widely known as Ducky Bhai, seeking the return of his laptop and other seized items.

The hearing took place at the Lahore District Courts, where Ducky Bhai appeared along with his counsel Barrister Amrit Sheikh and advocate Mian Usman.

The court directed the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) prosecutor to present final arguments at the next hearing and adjourned proceedings until then.

During the hearing, the NCCIA prosecutor argued that Ducky Bhai had uploaded three videos to his YouTube channel despite the channel being state property and under official custody.

He maintained that the uploads amounted to a violation of rules and regulations and warranted legal action against the YouTuber.

The court observed that if the NCCIA intended to proceed against the accused on this ground, it must file a formal written application.

Responding to the allegations, Barrister Amrit Sheikh informed the court that his client’s sworn affidavit was already on record and assured that Ducky Bhai would not engage in any unlawful activity.

In an earlier hearing, the court had adjourned the supardari plea and noted that the NCCIA had raised no objection to the release of several seized items, while forensic analysis of electronic devices, including mobile phones and a laptop, was still underway.

The issue of access to the YouTube channel remains under judicial consideration.

The case will be taken up again after the prosecution presents its final arguments.
