The Sindh government has started a scooter training program for women, aiming to promote safe and convenient mobility, senior provincial Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon said.

Training has begun in the Korangi, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, and Malir districts of Karachi, with special encouragement for working women applying for the Pink Scooty.

Hyderabad’s training started on 18 December, and sessions will soon begin in other Sindh cities, including Sukkur, Larkana, Shaheed Benazirabad, and Mirpurkhas.

The program focuses on safe riding skills and is designed to empower women, a top priority of the Sindh government.

Minister Memon emphasised that women’s empowerment is linked not only to economic independence but also to social freedom, and providing safe travel facilities is essential for practical empowerment.

Students and working women can benefit from this initiative.
