Pakistan’s FDI plunges 25% in first five months of current fiscal

FDI falls to $927 million, while total foreign investment drops to $314 million

Foreign direct investment (FDI) into Pakistan fell by 25 per cent during the first five months of the current fiscal year, according to data released by the State Bank of Pakistan.

The country received $927.4 million in foreign direct investment (FDI) between July and November 2025, marking a decline of $315 million compared to the same period last fiscal year, when FDI totalled $1.24 billion.

In November 2025 alone, FDI stood at $180 million, down 16 per cent from $214 million in November 2024.

The total foreign investment in the country plunged 77 per cent to $314 million in the first five months of the current fiscal year, compared with $1.391 billion in the corresponding period of FY25.
