Punjab Assembly approves resolution seeking ban on Imran Khan
The Punjab Assembly on Tuesday adopted, by a majority vote, a resolution calling for a ban on PTI founder Imran Khan.
The resolution was moved in the House by PML-N lawmaker Tahir Pervaiz.
The resolution urged the federal government to impose a ban on the PTI founder and his political party, accusing the party leader of making statements against the state, spreading unrest, and acting as facilitators of hostile foreign interests.
It further called for action under national laws against anyone — whether affiliated with a political or non-political entity — found involved in such activities, and demanded exemplary punishment for those responsible.
Azma Bokhari slams PTI founder
Punjab Information Minister Azma Bokhari on Tuesday said that the walls of Adiala Jail have “turned PTI founder Imran Khan into a mentally unstable man”, adding that the PTI founder had now become “MQM founder part two”.
Speaking to the media in Lahore, she said that the PTI leadership was using Indian media against Pakistan.
Bokhari rejected social media claims about the PTI founder’s deteriorating health, saying: “He is perfectly fit. He even orders fried fish from outside.”
She alleged that the PTI founder “used every tactic to push Pakistan towards default”, claiming that “every positive development for Pakistan becomes bad news for those who thrive on chaos”.
She added that the PTI leader was “trying to portray himself as a victim”.
The Punjab information minister went on to say that despite cases of corruption, PTI supporters “feel no shame in calling their leader honest and righteous”, adding that “Fitna Khan’s politics and Pakistan cannot go together”.
