Three women were found dead under mysterious circumstances in a residential flat in Gulshan-e-Iqbal Block 1, while a man discovered unconscious at the scene remains under treatment, police said on Monday.

The deceased were identified as Samina, Samreen and Maha. Their bodies were shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre, where post-mortem examinations were completed.

According to police surgeon Dr Somia, the exact cause of death will only be determined once chemical analysis reports are received. She confirmed that no signs of torture were found on the bodies.

Police said 30-year-old Yasin, who was found unconscious inside the flat, has regained consciousness but is still not in a condition to record a statement.

Investigators added that the head of the household, Iqbal, is also not mentally stable, which has further complicated the inquiry.

Statements from residents of the building and security guards are being recorded.

According to officials, investigators suspect that Iqbal may have administered a toxic substance to the victims, though they stressed that all possibilities are being examined.

Police said the inquiry is under way and every angle is being probed to determine what led to the deaths.
