The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is set to hold a power show in Peshawar on Sunday, with party leaders claiming they will bring a total of 17,000 workers to the gathering.

The strategy for the rally was finalised during a meeting held at the Chief Minister’s House, presided over by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi on Saturday.

According to party sources, PTI office-bearers and lawmakers from Peshawar attended the meeting.

Participants expressed concern over the low turnout at the party’s gatherings after the November 26 public meeting.

The PTI Peshawar leaders reportedly accepted responsibility for failing to mobilise sufficient workers for the earlier “Black Day” rally.

Former provincial minister Taimur Jhagra assured the leadership that he would mobilise 2,500 workers, while other PTI lawmakers pledged to bring around 1,000 participants each from their respective constituencies.

PTI Peshawar president Irfan Saleem said the meeting finalised the organisational and mobilisation plan for the rally.
