Pakistan Army conducts Special Forces training for 446 Iraqi troops at NCTC
Pakistan has completed a specialised counterterrorism training programme for Iraqi Army contingents at the National Counter Terrorism Centre (NCTC), the military’s media wing said on Saturday.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the Special Forces training was conducted from September 24 to November 29, 2025.
The graduation ceremony for the third batch of 446 Iraqi personnel was held on November 29, attended by senior officials of the Pakistan Army and military representatives from Iraq.
The ISPR said troops from both countries demonstrated exceptional professionalism, operational skills, and dedication throughout the programme.
The training focused on counterterrorism operations, tactical drills, and integrated mission planning.
All objectives were successfully achieved, the statement added, enabling Iraqi troops to enhance their operational readiness.
Pakistan and Iraq reaffirmed their commitment to regional security and collaborative defence preparedness, with the training further strengthening longstanding military-to-military ties.
