Pakistan Navy rushes aid to Sri Lanka as Cyclone Ditwah wreaks havoc
The Pakistan Navy has extended swift humanitarian assistance to Sri Lanka in the wake of Cyclone Ditwah, which has caused widespread destruction and flooding across the island.
Pakistan Navy Ship (PNS) Saif, currently on a port call in Colombo for the International Fleet Review-25, immediately initiated Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) operations to support affected communities.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the relief package provided to Sri Lankan authorities included food staples, Meals Ready to Eat (MREs), dry rations, first-aid kits, emergency medicines, and essential equipment.
In continuation of the ongoing support, the Pakistan Navy will continue providing additional aid as relief needs evolve, it said.
The operation underscores the Pakistan Navy’s commitment to international obligations, regional stability, and solidarity with friendly nations during times of crisis.
