The Pakistan Navy (PN) conducted a successful flight test of an indigenously developed ship-launched Anti-Ship Ballistic Missile (ASBM), showcasing the country’s growing technological and defence capabilities, the military’s media affairs wing said on Tuesday.

According to ISPR, the missile is designed to engage both sea and land targets with high precision. It is equipped with state-of-the-art guidance systems, advanced manoeuvrability, and high-precision tracking, making it a significant strategic asset for Pakistan in the region.

The missile successfully achieved all its technical and operational objectives, highlighting Pakistan Navy’s commitment to safeguarding national interests.

The flight test was witnessed by Admiral Naveed Ashraf, Chief of the Naval Staff, along with senior scientists, engineers, and other key personnel.

Admiral Ashraf lauded the efforts of the scientific community, engineers, and all participating units, describing the achievement as another step towards defence self-reliance.

The successful test drew congratulations from President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, and all service chiefs, who termed it a major advancement in Pakistan’s national defence capabilities.

The test reinforces Pakistan Navy’s operational readiness and the country’s ability to develop cutting-edge indigenous defence systems.
