OGRA cuts gas prices for FY 2025-26: Sui Southern falls 8%, Sui Northern 3%
The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has finalised new gas prices for the fiscal year 2025-26, announcing reductions for both Sui Southern Gas Company Limited (SSGC) and Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL).
Sui Southern rates have been cut by 8%, bringing the average price to Rs1,549.41 per MMBTU, while Sui Northern sees a 3% reduction, with the average set at Rs1,804.08 per MMBTU.
OGRA said the revisions reflect a reassessment of gas demand, improved revenue and expenditure calculations for the gas companies, and adjustments from deferred cargo costs, benefiting consumers.
A total of Rs13,565 million for SNGPL and Rs47,315 million for SSGC have been adjusted in the new pricing structure.
The regulator added that federal government consultations will guide category-wise gas pricing, and current tariffs will remain in effect until the official notification is issued following approval.
