Punjab to reward citizens reporting illegal Afghan residents
Punjab Information Minister Azma Bokhari has announced that citizens who provide information on illegally residing Afghan nationals will be given cash rewards.
In a statement on Wednesday, Azma Bokhari said the province-wide operation against Afghans and other foreign nationals living illegally in Punjab is underway.
She said that over the past three weeks, 6,220 Afghans residing illegally in Punjab had been repatriated to their home country.
According to Azma Bokhari, several citizens have provided accurate information to the government under the Whistleblower Act during the operation, and their identities will be kept confidential.
She said the drive to repatriate Afghan nationals living illegally in Punjab is progressing successfully.
