Sindh government to launch double-decker and new EV buses in Karachi

More people’s bus service routes, EV taxis and women’s scooter training are also planned

The Sindh government has announced another relief for citizens as it prepares to launch double-decker buses and new EV buses in Karachi from next week.

The decision was made during a meeting chaired by Senior Sindh Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon.

Officials briefed him on progress regarding the Yellow Line BRT, Red Line BRT, the EV taxi project and the second phase of the Pink Scooties scheme.

Sharjeel Memon said the double-decker motorcars and new EV motorcars are anticipated to arrive in Karachi coming week, with fresh EV machine routes also being introduced.

He added that the Sindh government plans to launch EV hacks by December and aims to bring 500 further motorcars during the current fiscal year.

He further announced that new routes of the People’s Bus Service will be launched soon in other districts of Sindh, while training for women and female students to ride scooties has already begun.

Work on the Yellow Line BRT is underway round the clock, he said, adding that the second phase of the Taj Haider Flyover will begin soon.

Two-way traffic on the flyover has started from today.
