The draft of the proposed 27th Constitutional Amendment is likely to be tabled in the Upper House today (Saturday).

The amendment bill is likely to be referred to the Senate’s Law and Justice Committee for review.

The session may continue into Sunday, during which lawmakers are expected to debate the proposed changes.

Sources said the Senate could approve the amendment on Monday. Opposition parties are also expected to stage protests when the amendment is presented.
