Teenage victims break free from sex traffickers in Karachi

Girls abducted from Punjab say they were lured to Karachi on job promises

In a shocking case of human trafficking, two teenage girls who were reportedly abducted from Punjab managed to escape captivity in Karachi and were recovered by law enforcement near the city’s airport.

The girls, identified as 19-year-old Tayyaba from Faisalabad and 17-year-old Humaira from Okara, approached Special Security Unit (SSU) personnel deployed near the airport and were immediately taken into protective custody.

According to initial police reports, the girls were lured to Karachi by a woman named Ayesha, who had promised them employment opportunities.

Upon arrival, they were allegedly handed over to a man identified as Rafiuddin, who, according to the victims, forced them into prostitution in exchange for money.

The girls told investigators that they had been held by the accused for nearly 10 months. They managed to escape from his residence and sought help from SSU officials on duty.

Police confirmed that First Information Reports (FIRs) regarding the disappearance of both girls had already been filed in their respective hometowns.

Humaira’s case was registered at Kot Lakhpat Police Station in Lahore, while Tayyaba’s case was lodged at Roshan Wala Police Station in Faisalabad.

In their statements to police, the girls said they wished to return to their families. “We just want to go home to our parents,” they told investigators.

Law enforcement agencies have launched a manhunt to locate both Ayesha and Rafiuddin, who are believed to be key suspects in a broader trafficking network. Further investigation is underway.

Authorities have assured that legal action will be pursued swiftly, and the victims are being provided with protection and support as the case progresses.
