At least six people were killed when unknown assailants opened fire on a passenger vehicle in the Lower Kurram area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Wednesday.

According to police, the vehicle was travelling from Daradar to Sadda when it came under fire near Mehura in Lower Kurram. The attackers managed to flee the scene after the shooting.

The bodies of the deceased have been shifted to the tehsil headquarters hospital in Sadda, police said and added that teams have collected evidence from the spot and launched investigations into the incident.
