Sindh govt cracks down on ‘black sheep’ in police; 336 officers booked

12 personnel remain fugitives, as many walk free on bail

The Sindh government has launched a crackdown against the “black sheep” within its police force, registering FIRs against 336 officers accused of unlawful and criminal practices.

According to the details, these officers were suspected of kidnapping, extortion, and fake encounters.

From Karachi, 37 officers were named from the east zone, while 19 officers were named from the south zone. Eight officers from the west zone were also booked for their involvement in suspicious activities.

Outside Karachi, Hyderabad Range topped the list with 77 officers—the highest in the province—accused of manipulating the law and exploiting citizens.

63 officers from Larkana, 57 from Shaheed Benazirabad, and 53 from the Sukkur region were named in the FIRs under the grave charges, including anti-terrorism.
