In a move reflecting what analysts describe as “war hysteria,” the Narendra Modi government is pressing ahead with the creation of new commando battalions, widely seen as an admission of failure in Operation Sindoor.

The move has also raised concerns about preparations for another false-flag operation in the region.

According to the Indian online publication The Print, India is grappling with the challenge of a two-front scenario against Pakistan and China.

In response, the Indian Army is set to operationalise five Bhairav commando battalions this month.

These units will be tasked with cross-border interdiction and the destruction of enemy positions.

Reports suggest that three of the new battalions will be deployed along the borders with Pakistan and China.

Security experts point out that India’s history of false-flag operations casts doubt on New Delhi’s intentions, with fears that the new commando units could be used to escalate tensions and destabilise the region.
