USGS reports 5.4 magnitude earthquake in northern Iran

United States Geological Survey (USGS) has reported an earthquake of a magnitude of 5.4 struck northern Iran with on the Richter scale. It has caused panic among the residents.

The report stated that the earthquake occurred at a depth of 10 kilometers, with its epicenter located 31 kilometers east of the village of Qaranabad and 46 kilometers from the city of Gorgan, which has a population of over 244,000.

There have been no reports of casualties or structural damage.

However, local authorities have issued an alert in the affected area and dispatched teams to assess any potential damage.

Experts have warned of possible aftershocks, advising residents to remain cautious.
