The Rawalpindi Traffic Police issue a detailed traffic plan for the 9th, and 10th of Muharram (corresponding to July 5, and 6, 2025).

The traffic police deployed 930 officers and personnel across the city.

On Ashura day, all traffic will be blocked on the stretch from Committee Chowk to Iqbal Road.

A full diversion will be enforced at DAV College Chowk, restricting access to College Road. Once the procession reaches Naya Mohalla, the route from DAV College Chowk to Fawara Chowk will also be closed.

Chief Traffic Officer Beenish Fatima stated that foolproof security and traffic arrangements are in place.

Public service vehicles will be rerouted from DAV College Chowk, while private vehicles will be diverted from Gawalmandi via Dhok Kumhar to Bhusa Godam.

Additional diversions include a secondary route at Mashriq Hotel on City Saddar Road, guiding vehicles back to Saddar and Mohanpura through Cinema Chowk and Ganjmandi Road towards Pirwadhai.

Cinema Chowk to Kashmiri Bazaar will also be closed to traffic, with vehicles redirected via Transit Camp towards Saddar.

Near City Police Station, traffic will be guided through Ganjmandi Road, Dhok Hassu, and Pirwadhai.

Shah Allah Ditta Road traffic will be diverted through Dhok Dalal, TB Hospital, Pirwadhai, and Asghar Mall.

At Bakery Chowk, vehicles will reroute towards Banni Chowk and Link Road, then move along Saidpur Road and Circular Road to Liaquat Bagh via Murree Road.

Further restrictions will be in effect at Hamilton Chowk and Bansowala Chowk, with limited access near Dingi Khoi and the Grand Mosque.

Roads leading to Imambargah Baltistania from Pir Choha Chowk will be completely sealed.

For processions originating in Satellite Town, diversions will be in place at key locations including New Town Police Station, Punjab College of Commerce, Hayat Wali Hospital, Aziz Nursing Home, Banni Chowk, and Kohati Bazar.
