The federal government has announced public holidays on the occasion of Ashura, with an official notification issued on Wednesday by the Cabinet Division.

According to the notification, holidays will be observed on July 5 and 6 (corresponding to 9th and 10th Muharram) across the country.

The decision was made under the circular issued by the Cabinet Division on December 23, 2024, which outlines the schedule of public holidays for the year.
