Pakistani stars set to clash as Cricket Australia unveils BBL 2025-26 schedule
Cricket Australia has officially released the schedule for the Big Bash League (BBL) 2025–2026, marking an unprecedented level of participation by Pakistani cricketers, including star names like Babar Azam and Shaheen Afridi.
The league will run from December 14, 2025, to January 18, 2026, with the knockout series scheduled from January 20 to January 25, 2026, according to Cricket Australia.
For the first time in BBL history, Pakistani batting icon Babar Azam and PSL-winning captain Shaheen Afridi will be part of the tournament, adding major international appeal. They are joined by other top-tier Pakistani players such as Haris Rauf, Shadab Khan, Mohammad Rizwan, and Hasan Ali, making this season a star-studded affair for fans of Pakistan cricket.
One of the most anticipated matchups will see Babar Azam’s Sydney side take on Shaheen Afridi’s Brisbane team. The traditional New Year’s night clash between the Adelaide Strikers and Brisbane Heat is also set to be a highlight of the tournament.
The inclusion of high-profile Pakistani talent is expected to boost viewership and engagement, especially among international audiences, as the BBL continues to expand its global appeal.
