The Sindh Education Department has successfully wrapped up Pakistan’s biggest-ever teachers’ recruitment drive, distributing offer letters to over 93,000 primary and junior elementary school teachers across the province.

Provincial Education Minister Syed Sardar Ali Shah announced the milestone, calling it a historic achievement for the province’s education sector.

In a statement, the minister congratulated the successful candidates and expressed confidence that the newly appointed teachers would serve with dedication, commitment, and integrity.

According to Shah, the recruitment was carried out entirely on merit through third-party testing, resulting in the appointment of 65,147 primary school teachers and 27,000 junior elementary teachers. Among them are 31,075 women, reflecting the provincial government’s efforts to promote women’s empowerment.

The transparent and inclusive process also led to the hiring of 1,330 differently-abled individuals and 2,100 candidates from minority communities.

The minister noted that the new teachers will join 41,129 schools across Sindh and that the drive has made it possible to reopen more than 5,000 schools that were previously non-functional.

Emphasizing the importance of education as a noble profession, Shah expressed hope that the newly recruited teachers would uphold the dignity of their role and play a crucial part in shaping the future of the province’s children.
