Electricity likely to become cheaper for Karachi consumers
In a potential relief for Karachi’s electricity consumers, K-Electric has requested a reduction of Rs4.69 per unit under the monthly fuel charges adjustment for April 2024.
The application has been submitted to the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra).
According to a Nepra’s statement, a public hearing on the petition will be held on June 23 in Islamabad.
The authority has also revised the hearing schedule, issuing an updated notification.
If approved, the price cut would result in a total relief of Rs7.17 billion for K-Electric consumers.
