Sindh budget to offer relief for salaried class, says Murad Ali Shah
Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has assured that the upcoming provincial budget will provide relief to the salaried class amid rising inflation. The Sindh budget is scheduled to be presented in the provincial assembly on June 13, he said.
Speaking to the media in Sehwan, Shah acknowledged that inflation has significantly increased the burden on the public. He said the provincial government would finalise salary hikes after receiving confirmed figures from the federal government.
Updating on post-flood rehabilitation efforts, the chief minister stated that 1 million out of 2.1 million houses for flood victims have been completed. He added that the provincial government, under the guidance of PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, is placing special focus on clean drinking water and solar energy initiatives.
Commenting on public grievances, Shah said the federal government must take meaningful steps to address inflation-related distress. On PTI’s announcement of a protest, he remarked, “A movement cannot be launched just because one person is in jail.”

Criticising the performance of power distribution companies, Shah said HESCO, SEPCO, and K-Electric have all failed to meet public expectations, with SEPCO being the worst offender. “There is up to 18 hours of load shedding in Sindh,” he added.
He noted that discussions are ongoing with the federal government to potentially run the power companies under a public-private partnership model to improve efficiency and accountability.
