Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan said on Saturday that the party founder Imran Khan has declared all political and legal avenues closed for himself, leaving no choice but to launch a protest movement across the country.

Speaking to reporters outside Adiala Jail, Barrister Gohar stated that the party founder has made it clear that all doors, both political and legal, have been shut on him. Therefore, the only way forward now is a protest movement.

He added that the former prime minister would lead the nationwide protest himself and had issued directions in this regard to PTI Secretary General and Opposition Leader in the National Assembly, Omar Ayub.

“The party founder said he will lead the protest campaign himself. All instructions related to this movement will be passed on to Omar Ayub,” Gohar told the media.

While no timeframe was provided for the launch of the protest drive, Gohar said the party founder had decided to assume the title of Patron-in-Chief and would now make all key decisions for the party moving forward.

Dispelling speculation about internal leadership changes, Barrister Gohar clarified, “Ali Amin Gandapur will not be given the leadership of the protest movement.”

He also strongly condemned alleged rigging in the recent by-election in Sialkot’s Sambrial constituency, calling it unacceptable.

Responding to questions about his role, Gohar emphasized that he would continue serving as PTI Chairman but all decision-making powers would rest with the founder.
