A TikTok video featuring a woman using what appears to be a transparent Nokia phone has captured the attention of many.

The viral video showcases a device that looks like a clear, crystal-like phone, sparking curiosity on social media.

Several viewers speculated that it could be a new, advanced phone from Nokia, potentially priced over £30,000. However, no confirmation of such a phone’s existence has been made.

Nokia has not announced any plans for a transparent phone. The company’s recent models, produced under HMD Global and launched in 2025, are quite traditional, including the Nokia 235 4G, Nokia 2660 Flip, and Nokia 3210 (2024), which features Bluetooth and long battery life similar to the classic model from 1999.

The woman in the video later revealed the truth in another clip, explaining that the device she was holding was actually a “metaphone,” an iPhone-like device made of acrylic. It is not a real mobile phone but an experimental object designed to reduce mobile phone addiction.

She clarified, “A friend of mine, who created this ‘metaphone,’ wanted to test whether we could reduce our addiction to mobile phones by providing a physical sensation similar to holding a phone.”

The woman added that the metaphone resonated with millions because it symbolizes the increasing stress we all feel, highlighting how the devices meant to connect us are, in fact, making us more isolated.

She emphasized that she often comments on the negative effects of technology on society, and the metaphone was a creative response to this issue that gained global attention.
