Pakistan halts IPL 2025 streaming in response to PSL ban in India
Pakistan has officially suspended the streaming of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 across the country.
The decision comes after India banned the broadcast of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) on its platforms.
The Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) issued directives to all local broadcasters and digital platforms to cease coverage of IPL matches effective immediately.
Authorities stated the step was taken to ensure “reciprocal treatment” and uphold national interests in the face of India’s earlier restrictions on PSL content.
The suspension has sparked debate among cricket fans and media analysts, with many calling for sports to be kept separate from political tensions.

However, government officials maintain the action was necessary following what they described as India’s “discriminatory” stance.
This is not the first time cricket broadcasting has become entangled in diplomatic disputes between the neighboring countries, reflecting ongoing tensions beyond the pitch.
