Kuwait launches automated system to verify academic qualifications
Kuwait’s Public Authority for Manpower has introduced an automated system to validate academic qualifications for expatriate, GCC, and bidoon workers.
In a recent circular from Acting Director General of the Public Authority for Manpower, Marzouq Al Otaibi, it was announced that a new automated system has been implemented to verify academic credentials before issuing work permits.
With the help of the Ashal portal and Sahel Business app, the verification process will take place, simplifying the work permit approval process.
This announcement follows Kuwait’s launch of a new platform that enables expatriates in the UAE and other Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries to apply for an eVisa more easily through an upgraded online visa platform.
The new site (kuwaitvisa.moi.gov.kw) aims to streamline visa applications, reducing delays.
According to Ministry of Higher Education standards, the automated verification system will evaluate three main aspects:
- the academic degree
- field of specialization
- the accreditation status of qualifications
