Rawalpindi traffic plan issued for PSL 10 matches
The City Traffic Police Rawalpindi has released a comprehensive traffic management plan ahead of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 10 matches scheduled at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.
According to the official announcement, alternative routes and diversions have been finalized to ensure smooth traffic flow during match days.
The plan includes designated parking areas, closed roads, and entry restrictions in areas surrounding the stadium.
To maintain public safety and ensure smooth traffic flow, a detailed traffic management plan has been implemented.
Rawalpindi is set to host PSL 10 matches on April 11, 12, 13, 14, 16, 19 and May 7, 8, 10, and 13.
Traffic diversions
-
Road closures and diversions will be enforced during team movements between Serena Hotel and Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, as well as throughout match hours.
-
Club Road: Traffic will be redirected towards Srinagar Highway through Serena Chowk.
-
Murree Road (Faizabad to Double Road): This section will be completely closed on April 13 and May 17 during team movements (5 PM departure, 11 PM return). On days with two matches, extended restrictions will apply from 11 AM to 11 PM.
-
Islamabad to Rawalpindi: Vehicles will be diverted from Faizabad to the Expressway.
-
Rawalpindi to Islamabad: Traffic will be rerouted via 6th Road Chowk to Saidpur Road.
-
9th Avenue Travelers: Will be diverted to IJP Road.
-
Stadium Road: Will remain closed between 9th Avenue Chowk and Double Road during match hours.
Bus services
While the Metro Bus service will remain operational, three key stations—Rehmanabad, Khatam-e-Nabuwat, and Faizabad—will be temporarily closed during match timings due to security concerns.
Commuters, especially fans heading to the stadium, are advised to plan their journeys accordingly.
Given the anticipated heavy traffic, the use of public transport is strongly recommended to avoid delays.
It is advised for those who drive to leave early and take alternate routes to steer clear of restricted zones.
Moreover, keeping track of real-time traffic updates from local authorities can also help adjust travel plans as needed.
