U.S. delegation welcomed to Pakistan for Minerals Investment Forum 2025

Call for deeper economic ties and recognition of Pakistan’s immense youth-driven potential

As the U.S. delegation arrives in Islamabad for the Pakistan Minerals Investment Forum 2025, the people of Pakistan and the global diaspora have extended a heartfelt welcome, reaffirming a desire to strengthen bilateral ties and unlock shared economic opportunities.

On behalf of millions of Pakistanis and the dynamic diaspora community, a warm message of welcome has been conveyed to the visiting U.S. delegation led by Eric Meyer, a senior official from the U.S. State Department’s Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs. The message highlights Pakistan’s rich traditions, resilient spirit, and unmatched hospitality, underscoring its readiness for global collaboration.

The statement emphasized that with over 240 million citizens—60% under the age of 30—Pakistan’s youthful population is driving innovation across sectors such as information technology, agriculture, renewable energy, and mining. The minerals sector, in particular, is spotlighted as a transformative force, with an estimated $6 trillion in untapped reserves offering unprecedented economic promise.

The message also recalled the enduring 75-year relationship between the United States and Pakistan, rooted in shared goals and mutual respect. While acknowledging existing challenges, it praised the Pakistani people’s resilience and the evolution of democratic institutions, calling on U.S. officials to witness the country’s progress and prioritize partnerships that foster inclusive growth.

A high-stakes forum for investment

The Pakistan Minerals Investment Forum 2025 is being held at the Jinnah Convention Centre in Islamabad on April 8–9. Organized by OGDCL in collaboration with the Government of Pakistan, the forum seeks to attract global investment into the country’s burgeoning minerals sector.

Eric Meyer is also scheduled to meet with senior Pakistani officials to explore new avenues for American businesses and strengthen economic cooperation. The visit further includes discussions on counterterrorism collaboration, reflecting the broader strategic dimensions of U.S.-Pakistan relations.
