Karachi: Husband arrested in wife’s murder case, initially reported as robbery
There has been a major development in the case of a pregnant woman’s death during an alleged robbery resistance in the Faqeera Goth area of Karachi.
According to police, the location provided by the husband was found to be incorrect, and due to his suspicious behaviour, he has been taken into custody.
Police stated that the woman was actually killed inside the house, but the husband tried to portray it as a robbery incident.
The weapon used in the incident has been recovered, and the husband has been handed over to investigative authorities for further questioning.
In the Faqeera Goth area of Karachi, a pregnant woman, Saima, mother of three, was reportedly shot dead by robbers during a robbery resistance, according to her husband’s initial statement.
Saima’s husband, Irfan, told Aaj News that she was pregnant and he was taking her to the hospital when two armed men on a motorcycle intercepted them. He claimed that during the attempted robbery, resistance led to the fatal shooting.
According to Irfan, the robbers snatched his mobile phone and attempted to take Saima’s purse. He said Saima pushed one of the assailants, causing him to fall, after which the robber opened fire on her and fled the scene.
Visibly emotional during the interview, Irfan tearfully expressed concern about the future of their three young children and pleaded with the authorities to apprehend the culprits and ensure they are brought to justice.
