Pakistan celebrates Eid with prayers for unity, peace, and prosperity

Special prayers offered for Palestine, Kashmir, and Pakistan’s progress

Eid-ul-Fitr is being celebrated across Pakistan with religious enthusiasm, as large congregations offered prayers and prayed for the Muslim Ummah, including the people of occupied Kashmir and Palestine, as well as Pakistan’s prosperity.

Mass Eid prayers were held across the country under tight security arrangements. Following the prayers, many people visited cemeteries to pay respects to their deceased loved ones, with a significant number of flower stalls seen outside graveyards.

Leaders urge unity and generosity

President Asif Ali Zardari extended Eid greetings, emphasizing that Eid is a reward from Allah after the blessings of Ramadan. He urged people to remember those struggling with financial difficulties, stating that the true joy of Eid lies in sharing happiness with others. He encouraged generous giving of zakat, charity, and fitrana to ensure that no one is deprived of Eid celebrations.

He further stressed the importance of unity and brotherhood, calling for national solidarity and efforts towards the country’s progress. “We must remain united and play our role in the development of our nation,” he said, praying for peace and prosperity for Pakistan.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also conveyed Eid greetings, highlighting that the festival teaches the values of joy and compassion. He urged the nation to continue the lessons of Ramadan, including piety, patience, and sacrifice, in their daily lives.

Call for national unity against extremism

The prime minister warned that Pakistan faces internal and external threats, urging the nation to stay vigilant against extremism, hatred, and sectarianism to safeguard the country’s sovereignty.

He paid tribute to martyrs who sacrificed their lives in the fight against terrorism, expressing solidarity with their families. “The nation stands with them in their grief and prays for their patience and strength,” he said.

As Pakistan marks Eid with celebrations and prayers, leaders have urged unity, generosity, and resilience to ensure a brighter future for the nation.
