Apple’s highly anticipated foldable iPhone, often dubbed the “iPhone Fold,” will feature a liquid metal hinge.

Recent leaks suggested that the tech giant plans to utilise liquid metal for the hinge, a decision that could significantly enhance the device’s durability and lifespan.

Liquid metal, also known as an amorphous alloy or metallic glass, is reported to be 2.5 times stronger than titanium, making it an ideal choice for a foldable phone’s hinge.

This metal has a unique structure that resists bending, deformation, and pressure, potentially allowing the device to withstand frequent folding and unfolding over time.

This advanced hinge design may also address the issue of display creasing, as the flexible display requires robust support to resist finger presses and bending.

Meanwhile, Apple is reportedly collaborating with hardware suppliers to further improve flexible OLED technology and eliminate any potential creases in the display.
