Hand grenade attack on Karachi police camp injures four, including three officers
A hand grenade attack targeted a police camp near Qaidabad Chowk in Karachi, injuring four individuals, including three police personnel.
During a media briefing, SSP Malir revealed that unknown assailants hurled a grenade from above the Qaidabad Bridge, specifically aiming at the police camp set up in connection with Eid ul-Fitr celebrations before making their escape.
In addition to the three injured officers, one passerby sustained injuries in the incident, raising the total injured count to four. Among the wounded officers, identified as Waseem and Fayyaz, two suffered minor injuries.
A significant force from the Malir police and other law enforcement agencies quickly responded to the scene, and the injured were promptly transported to the hospital. Meanwhile, a team from the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) also arrived to conduct further investigations.
Sindh’s Home Minister underscored the importance of a comprehensive investigation to ensure the perpetrators are apprehended.
He urged for the preservation of the crime scene and the collection of evidence to facilitate a successful investigation, requesting detailed information from SSP Malir.
Governor Sindh Kamran Khan Tessori and Provincial Home Minister Zia Lanjhar have both taken prompt notice of the cracker attack on the police camp.
They have instructed that immediate investigations be conducted and that efforts be made to swiftly apprehend those responsible. Governor Tessori reached out to SSP Malir via telephone to discuss the incident and seek a report.

Expressing his best wishes for the rapid recovery of the injured personnel, he emphasized that all possible steps must be taken to ensure safety and stability in Karachi.
The Provincial Home Minister also demanded updates from SSP Malir, highlighting the necessity of tracking down and capturing the suspects involved.
