10 Pakistani nationals arrested for begging in UAE
Authorities in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have detained ten Pakistani nationals, comprising five women, for engaging in begging activities throughout the country.
This crackdown followed a recent warning from UAE police urging residents not to give money to beggars frequenting streets, mosques, and public areas.
The UAE officials have communicated these arrests to Pakistani authorities.
According to sources from the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), the detained women include Amna Bibi, Kausar Bibi, and Farzana Bibi, all from Vehari district in Punjab, along with Jameela Bibi and Zubaida Bibi from Lahore.
They are currently in jail and being prepared for deportation back to Pakistan.
Additionally, five Pakistani men were apprehended during the operations: Muhammad Zakariya from Dera Ghazi Khan, Waseem Haider from Bahawalnagar, Muhammad Usman from Lahore, Ijaz Khan from Charsadda, and Abdullah from Peshawar.
Emergency passports have been issued for their repatriation, and upon their return, they will face legal action.
Earlier this month, it was reported that 52,520 Pakistani nationals have been barred from traveling abroad due to issues related to illegal migration, deportation, and criminal activities.
