Indian comedian Kunal Kamra strikes again with new song targeting Shiv Sena
Indian stand-up comedian Kunal Kamra has once again aimed at Shiv Sena workers, releasing a new satirical song after they vandalised a Mumbai comedy club in response to his previous political parody.
The controversy erupted when Kamra performed a parody of a Bollywood song from Dil To Pagal Hai, indirectly mocking Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and his relationship with CM Devendra Fadnavis.
Though he never mentioned Shinde by name, his performance drew backlash from the deputy chief minister’s supporters.
Shiv Sena members stormed The Habitat, a popular comedy venue in Mumbai, smashing property in protest. Police arrested 12 individuals, who were later granted bail for Rs15,000 each.

Undeterred, Kamra has now released a new video titled Hum Honge Kangal (We will be bankrupt), a satirical twist on the iconic song Hum Honge Kamyab (We shall overcome).
The video features clips of the Shiv Sena rampage inside the comedy club and references controversial figures like Nathuram Godse, Mahatma Gandhi’s assassin, and self-proclaimed godman Asaram Bapu, to highlight the contradictions in the party’s leadership.
Reports suggest Kamra’s latest song surfaced just hours after Mumbai Police filed a complaint against him over his earlier jokes on Shinde. Responding through his lawyer, Kamra requested a week to reply to the notice.
The Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) police had initially registered the case before transferring it to the Khar police station for further investigation.
Despite legal pressure, Kamra remains defiant. “I will not apologise. I am not afraid of this mob, and I will not hide under my bed,” he stated after the FIR was filed against him.
As political tensions rise over his satirical performances, Kamra’s latest video has gone viral, further fuelling the debate on freedom of speech in India.
