Allama Raja Nasir Abbas: Opposition unity to take full shape after Eid
Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen (MWM) chief Allama Raja Nasir Abbas has said that the opposition is united in its belief that Pakistan’s existence is at risk, emphasising that it is essential to come together for constitutional supremacy.
He assured that opposition unity will be fully visible after Eid.
Speaking to the media outside Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi, Allama Raja Nasir Abbas condemned the government’s refusal to allow a meeting with PTI founder Imran Khan, stating that it is their legal right.
He questioned the government’s intentions behind blackout measures against Khan, arguing that no society can function without the rule of law.

The MWM chief criticised the lack of access to Imran Khan, revealing that despite waiting for hours, they were denied a meeting once again. He accused the government of operating out of fear, insisting that blocking Khan from public discourse is counterproductive.
Allama Nasir Abbas further lashed out at the ruling administration, claiming that it has lost the public’s trust since day one. He warned that governments cannot succeed without the people’s support and accused officials of misleading the nation.
Declaring Imran Khan as the only leader capable of pulling Pakistan out of crises, he called for his immediate release. He also alleged that the international community does not trust the current leadership, urging them to shed their arrogance and free Khan.
The MWM chief linked recent government actions, including PECA amendments and the 26th Constitutional Amendment, to the fear of Khan’s influence.
On opposition unity, he hailed the gathering of anti-government forces as a positive step, reiterating that all opposition factions agree on the urgency of protecting Pakistan’s constitution.
He urged the government to convene a joint parliamentary session on national security and issue a unified stance against terrorism. He concluded by stressing the need for decisive action and reiterated his call to release Imran Khan without delay.
