Fifteen Bangladeshi cricketers have been arrested in Malaysia. According to media reports, the group was travelling to Malaysia for a tournament when the country’s border security forces stopped them from entering.

Foreign media reports confirm that the Malaysian Border Control and Protection Agency executed the operation.

The cricketers were arrested on March 17 at Kuala Lumpur International Airport. They claimed to be participating in a tournament organised by the Penang Cricket Association. However, investigations revealed that no such tournament existed.

Authorities found no record of any tournament scheduled between March 21 and 23, as the group had claimed. Legal proceedings regarding the matter are underway.
