Maulana Fazlur Rehman offers to mediate talks with Afghan authorities on terrorism
Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has expressed deep concern over the country’s security situation while addressing the National Security Committee (NSC) meeting.
According to sources, he emphasised the need for continuity in state policies and asserted that Pakistan should not become entangled in any foreign conflicts.
Maulana Fazlur Rehman strongly criticised Pakistan’s past involvement in wars, stating that the country suffered the consequences of joining conflicts against Afghanistan.
He called the decision to ally with the United States in the post-9/11 war a grave mistake. He stressed that Pakistan must learn from past errors and prioritise its sovereignty and national interests above all else.
