Sindh Local Government Minister Saeed Ghani announced the construction of a bridge in Quaidabad, with the project set to commence at the end of April, Karachi.

During an interaction with media in Karachi, Ghani mentioned that a major bridge is being constructed in Quaidabad, with the project set to commence at the end of April.

He stated that new canals cannot be built from the Indus River without the approval of Sindh.

The minister emphasised equal water distribution in the country and compliance with the constitution.

He noted that a shrinking political party is urging the public to follow them.

He acknowledged that water scarcity is a significant issue affecting both Sindh and Punjab.

Moreover, he assured that the public still has access to drinking water following water shortages in the city.

Ghani responded to critics of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) who claim inaction, stating that they had raised concerns about canals long before others were aware of the issue.

He mentioned that they have written multiple letters to convene a meeting of the Council of Common Interests (CCI) and have repeatedly highlighted this problem.

He urged the opposition to stand with the public rather than engage in political point-scoring and to resolve issues through dialogue.

Additionally, Ghani noted that several leaders from the Pakistan Muslim League have assured that they would work together to resolve this issue, while some elements are escalating tensions.

He concluded by stating that they are utilizing all available forums and support resolving all matters through discussion.
