Police rescue two abducted individuals in Lakki Marwat
Police rescued two abducted individuals and arrested two kidnappers in the Lakki Marwat area, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The operation was initiated following a tip-off, leading officers to establish a checkpoint where they intercepted a suspicious white vehicle.
According to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Sabzali Khan, the suspects opened fire on the police during the encounter, prompting officers to retaliate.
This exchange resulted in the arrest of two kidnappers, while one accomplice managed to flee the scene.
The rescued individuals, identified as Ansar Abbas and Umar Sajjad, had been abducted from Bannu.
Police seized three Kalashnikovs (rifle), gold jewelry, and Rs2.7 million that were reportedly stolen from them.
The suspects have confessed to their involvement in other criminal activities.
DSP Khan commended the police team for their prompt action and stated that investigations are ongoing to locate the escaped suspect and gather more information about the organisation behind the kidnappings.
