National Security Parliamentary Committee to hold crucial meeting today, opposition to join political and military leadership

The National Security Parliamentary Committee is set to convene a highly significant in-camera meeting today at 11am in the Parliament House, presided over by Speaker Ayaz Sadiq.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, top military officials, and intelligence agency heads will also attend.

A resolution to convert the National Assembly hall into a chamber for the meeting has been approved, presented by Tariq Fazal Chaudhry.

According to the National Assembly spokesperson, the meeting was rescheduled to align with the sanctity of Ramazan and is now being held today.

Briefing on security situation

During the in-camera session, military leadership will brief the parliamentary committee on the overall security situation in the country.

Parliamentary leaders from all political parties represented in the Parliament, along with their designated representatives, will participate. Relevant cabinet members will also be in attendance.

Strict security arrangements

Stringent security measures have been implemented in and around Parliament House. Unauthorized individuals will not be allowed entry, and even media-issued access cards will be rendered ineffective.

Additionally, mobile phones will not be permitted inside the parliamentary hall during the meeting. Security agencies have been placed on high alert to prevent any untoward incidents during the session.
