Court-ordered meeting between judicial commission and Imran Khan not held
Despite an Islamabad High Court order, a judicial commission was not allowed to meet Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan at Adiala Jail, it has been revealed.
The court had instructed the jail superintendent to facilitate the meeting between 11am and 12pm on Saturday.
Justice Sardar Ejaz Ishaq had appointed his law clerk, Sakina Bangash, as the commission and ordered that the meeting take place in the presence of Adiala Jail Superintendent Abdul Ghafoor Anjum.
According to sources, the commission remained inside Adiala Jail for nearly three hours on Saturday but was made to wait in the superintendent’s office. Despite the clear court directive, the meeting with Imran Khan did not take place.

Sources further revealed that the commission intended to clarify whether Mishal Yousafzai was Imran Khan’s legal counsel. It also sought to question the PTI founder about a list submitted in court.
The court had ordered the commission to ask Khan four specific questions, which remained unanswered due to the denial of access.
Appeal for suspension of sentence in £190 million case
Meanwhile, former prime minister Imran Khan and his wife, Bushra Bibi, have decided to file an appeal in the Islamabad High Court to suspend their sentence in the £190 million corruption case.
PTI’s legal team has finalised the petition, arguing that the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) acted with malice and misused its authority.
The plea claims that the conviction was rushed, based on incomplete investigations, and that NAB failed to obtain the full text of the National Crime Agency (NCA) agreement, revealing its reluctance to pursue a fair probe. It also points out that NCA officials were not even included in the investigation.
The petition further states that the prosecution failed to present complete evidence and assures the court that the appellants will attend every hearing if their sentence is suspended.
The petitioners have requested the suspension of the sentence announced on January 17 and their release on bail until the final verdict on their appeal.
