Nushki suicide attack: Three security personnel, two civilians martyred

Security forces launch clearance operation; three terrorists eliminated

A suicide bomber targeted a security convoy in Nushki district on March 16, using an explosives-laden vehicle, resulting in the martyrdom of three security personnel and two civilians, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.

According to ISPR, the suicide attacker detonated his vehicle near the convoy, killing five brave individuals, including security officials and innocent civilians. The attack also left three security personnel and two civilians injured.

The martyred security personnel were identified as 38-year-old Havaldar Manzoor Ali from Nawabshah, 39-year-old Havaldar Ali Bilawal from Naseerabad, and 34-year-old Naik Abdul Rahim from Badin.

The civilian victims were Jalaluddin, a driver from Quetta, and Muhammad Naeem, a driver from Kharan.

In response, security forces engaged the terrorists, killing three militants in an intense exchange of fire.

ISPR stated that a clearance operation is underway, and all elements involved in this cowardly attack will be brought to justice.

The military’s media wing reiterated the armed forces’ commitment to defending Balochistan’s peace, stability, and development against all threats.

“The sacrifices of our brave soldiers and citizens will only strengthen our resolve,” the statement read.

Explosion at Levies Line in Qila Saifullah

Meanwhile, a separate explosion occurred at the main gate of the Levies Line in Qila Saifullah. Fortunately, no casualties were reported, though the gate sustained damage.

Security forces have cordoned off the area and initiated an investigation to gather evidence.

Authorities are actively investigating both incidents, with more details expected to emerge soon.

Balochistan government’s official response

Balochistan government spokesperson Shahid Rind confirmed the attack, stating that the security forces responded promptly and thwarted the terrorists’ nefarious plans.

“This attack is part of the ongoing wave of terrorism targeting our security forces. However, our personnel retaliated immediately, killing four terrorists, including the main attacker,” he said.

He further added that security forces had sealed all escape routes for the remaining terrorists, and the operation would continue until the area was completely cleared.

“This is not just a fight between security forces and terrorists; it is a battle for every citizen of Balochistan. The government, security forces, and the people are united in this fight, and together, we will defeat terrorism,” he asserted.
